Martlets Win on the Road

The Martlets went on the road for the first time this season and played probably their most complete game of the year. The scoring opened up when Gabe Mays-Sanchez ‘23 broke down the sideline and turned the corner and slotted a ball through for Lawrence Taylor ‘23 to knock home in the 20th minute. It would be Taylor again just 10 minutes later who would play a little give and go with Tommy Cramer ‘23 just outside the 18 yard box. Westminster would go into halftime up 2-0. The second half got a little interesting with three Martlets going down with injuries. The possession game went out the window and both teams got up and down the field. The strong play of Theo Massie-Vereker ‘23 and Murad Assadi ‘23 as center backs turned away most of the Griffins rushes. In the 80th minute Taylor would take a throw-in from Leo DiStefano ‘24 and go into the box and score short side. Parker Sinclair ’23 would get the game ball for keeping the clean sheet in net. The team wrench would be passed on to Taylor for another 3 goals on the day. Westminster heads back on the road Wednesday when they head up to Williston.
