Your Support is Critical
With the help of alumni, parents and friends, through outright annual and capital gifts or planned giving, Westminster will be able to secure its firm financial footing for the future and be able to preserve the special qualities that have distinguished the school and its students for more than a century — qualities that have made such a profound and enduring difference in so many lives. Westminster does not seek to become something different, but rather a stronger version of itself. It is a big goal. It is a worthy goal. It is deserving of your help.

Providing For Today: The Westminster Fund
While the endowment is an investment in tomorrow, The Westminster Fund supports the school today. Like all competitive boarding schools, tuition alone doesn’t cover the cost of the education. That’s where annual giving comes in. Yearly gifts from thoughtful alumni, parents and friends help bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating a Westminster student. These annual gifts, in fact, provide close to 10 percent of the school’s operating budget each year, making all kinds of essential and exceptional things possible.

The power of The Westminster Fund comes from participation. Annual gifts from alumni, parents and friends come together to represent the financial leadership of the greater Westminster community. Growth of the fund has an immediate positive impact on the Hill for students and faculty alike, providing the margin of excellence that makes Westminster extraordinary. Annual giving supports such things as field trips, referees for games, Dramat costumes, library resources, scholarships, music lessons, art supplies, corridor “feeds,” sports uniforms and faculty travel grants.

Securing The Future Through Endowment
A healthy endowment is the foundation of any independent school’s financial strength. Capital gifts to endowment provide long-term support of worthy projects and also generate a steady and predictable flow of support for daily operations. People give to endowment because they believe in an institution’s mission and have confidence in its wise and effective management and use of these funds.
