Athletic Performance

The Athletic Performance program at Westminster introduces students and student-athletes to functional strength training and conditioning while developing habits that support athletic performance, injury prevention, and lifelong fitness.

Students learn to perform key movements safely and effectively while using a variety of resistance-training techniques to develop strength, speed, explosiveness, and durability. Just as importantly, they gain an understanding of proper technique and training principles that prepares them to continue competing beyond Westminster or pursue an effective individual fitness program.

The program also reflects Westminster’s core values of Community, Character, Balance, and Involvement. Through shared challenges, individual goals, and team training, students develop confidence, discipline, resilience, and stronger connections with their peers.

Athletic Performance Training is offered as an afternoon activity during the winter term. Westminster’s athletic facilities—including the rink, pool, turf fields, and courts—are also available for winter and spring athletes to train under the supervision of their coaches.
