Storm, Vacation & Travel Information

Weather-Related Schedule Changes

In the event of inclement weather, Westminster will communicate any schedule changes through the school’s official communication channels, including community email. Families may also call the school at (860) 408-3000 after hours for weather-related updates.

Because approximately 70% of Westminster students live on campus and many day students live nearby, the school rarely cancels classes. When weather affects travel, faculty adjust classroom instruction as appropriate.

If a student expects to arrive late or be absent due to weather or travel conditions, parents should notify the Deans’ Office by contacting Rachel Falco at (860) 408-3020 or rfalco@westminster-school.org, or by contacting their student’s Form Dean.

Vacation Travel

The Deans’ Office coordinates van transportation between campus and Bradley International Airport and Hartford Union Station (rail and bus) at the beginning and end of school vacations.

Because students return from many different locations and at varying times, return transportation to campus is offered at scheduled pickup times from Bradley Airport and Hartford Union Station. Pickup schedules are shared with students through Westminster’s official communication channels before each return to campus.

Students whose travel plans do not align with scheduled van service are responsible for arranging alternate transportation to campus.

Notice of Nondiscriminatory Policy as to Students

In keeping with our support for a diverse community, Westminster abides by all applicable federal and state laws and does not discriminate on the basis of any protected characteristic, including race, color, religious creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national and ethnic origin, ancestry and/or disability in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs. Westminster admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the School.
