  • Soccer - Varsity Girls’

From the late 1980s on, Westminster’s Varsity Girls’ Soccer has been a force to be reckoned with in New England prep school soccer and has regularly been invited to participate in the postseason NEPSAC Class A Tournament. For the first time in school history, the team captured the New England Class A Championship in 2023.

The Martlets are consistently ranked among the top 10 teams in New England. The Varsity team competes annually for the Founders League title, playing a 16-game schedule against Founders League opponents and other local independent prep schools. Westminster players have gone on to participate in many strong college soccer programs at both the Division I and the Division III levels.

Coach Kelly Wosleger has served as head coach of Varsity Girls’ Soccer since 2017. Previously, coach Wosleger was an assistant coach at Princeton University for two years where she helped the program to an Ivy League Championship and to the second round of the NCAA tournament in her first year. The program had an overall record of 24-8-4 in her two years there. Before working at Princeton, coach Wosleger was an assistant coach for three years at her alma mater, Fairfield University. As a player at Fairfield, she was the starting goalkeeper for four years and team captain for two years. She holds several school records and was inducted in the Fairfield University Hall of Fame in 2023. She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and MBA degree from the university.

Wosleger holds an USSF D License and NSCAA National Diploma. She currently coaches for the Connecticut Football Club where she played growing up. At Westminster, she is the dean of the class of 2029, the head of Kelter House, and the program director of Horizons at Westminster.

In the fall of 2021, Kelly led her team to a semi-final appearance in the Class A New England tournament and was named CT Prep Coach of the Year. In 2022, the No. 3 seeded Martlets took it one step further and made it to the Class A New England Tournament Finals and finished the season with a record of 16-3. In 2023, the No.3 seeded Martlets captured their first New England Class A Championship by defeating Thayer Academy 1-0. The team finished the year 17-1-1.

The soccer program has a strong track record of nurturing players who go on to participate at both the Division I and the Division III levels at schools such as Georgetown, University of Virginia, University of Kansas, University of South Carolina, Davidson College, UConn, Princeton, Dartmouth, Fordham, Hamilton College, Connecticut College and Denison. In addition, the program has celebrated two All-American players, Jillian Gregorski ’24 in 2021 and 2022 and Maya Goddard ’26 in 2024-25.

In her time at the helm of the Martlets, Coach Wos is 58-36-9, including 47-6-1 the last three years.
