  • Hockey - Varsity Girls’

Westminster has established itself as one of the premier girls’ hockey programs in New England. The team is a key member of the competitive Founders League, and has earned the league title five times. Outside of the league, the team also plays against many top schools from all over New England, including Williston Northampton, Tabor Academy, Deerfield Academy, and St. Paul’s School.

Over the winter holidays, the Westminster girls compete in the Harrington Holiday Tournament hosted by Milton and Nobles. The team has had remarkable success in the New England Tournament at the end of the season. Westminster has won the championship three times since 2010. Of note was the championship 2014, when as the No. 6 seed the Martlets overcame the odds by beating the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 seeds to win the title.

The program has also had great success in placing girls in some of the top programs in Division I and III college programs. Westminster alumni have gone off to play for Brown, Harvard, Dartmouth, Vermont, Quinnipiac, Union, UConn, St. Lawrence, Bowdoin, Middlebury, Williams, Amherst, and Trinity. They have also represented their country at the U18 IIHF World Championships with USA and Canada. Most recently, alumni have found success playing professionally in the USA and in Europe.
