Martlets Defeat Local Rival

The Martlets played their most complete game of the season against nearby rival Granby on a perfect fall afternoon. Westminster came out focused and ready, playing tough defense and doing their best passing of the season. Marco Campos ‘30 started the scoring, drilling the ball into the right corner of the net after a long run down the left sideline. Granby evened the score before Max Matthews ‘30 headed in a beautiful cross from Nolan Baum ‘30. The Martlets took control of the game in the second half with Nate Mezheritskiy ‘30 scoring two goals to seal the victory. Tyler Hassett ‘30 made several big saves against his hometown team, earning the Grit and Grace Award for this game.
