Martlets Fall on Road

Frantz Batoh
The Martlets traveled to Trinity-Pawling (TP) for a fast-paced and competitive matchup. TP presented a strong challenge, but the Martlets fought hard from start to finish. Ivan Kovach ‘29 got off to a solid start in the defensive position, while Hudson O’Hanlon ‘28 created several promising opportunities that narrowly missed finding the back of the net. TP eventually capitalized on their speed to break through and score the opening goal. In the second half, Ethan Hernandez ‘27 stepped into the starting midfielder role and made an immediate impact, helping shift the momentum in the Martlets’ favor. The team continued to create chances throughout the remainder of the game, though they were unable to find the equalizer. Jordan Pham ‘27 also played well, encouraging his teammates to push forward during the final minutes. The Martlets raised their energy and tempo, coming even closer to tying the game in the final minutes. Despite the result, the boys left the field proud of their performance, especially considering they had only one substitute available. Their determination and effort were evident as they battled until the final whistle.

Ethan Hernandez ‘27 earns the Grit & Grace Award for his outstanding impact in the second half. Stepping into the starting midfielder role, Ethan helped change the dynamic of the game by keeping possession and consistently moving the ball into the opponents’ half. His focus, commitment, and ability to distribute the ball effectively to his teammates helped sustain the Martlets’ attacking pressure. Ethan’s effort and composure were instrumental in keeping the team competitive and pushing forward until the very end.
