Martlets Battle AOF

Another tough day on the pitch for 3BS as we dropped our game against Avon Old Farms by a score of 2-4. The Winged Beavers quickly took control of the game, controlling possession and using their superior size, strength, and speed to keep us back on our heels. AOF scored four times in the first half. In the ninth minute their left wing scored on a nice shot and three minutes later AOF doubled their lead when their right wing drove down for another goal. A troublesome recent pattern hurt us again when we were not able to clear a loose ball from our box and Avon punched it in. They finished their scoring with a lofted shot that hit bar down and eked over the goal line.
Coach McKenna made some changes to our lineups in the second half that seemed to stir some excitement in our players. We scored early when Tank Pan ‘29 converted a pass from Brooks BeVier ‘28 in the seventh minute. Later in the half Aidan Glassey scored one of our prettier goals of the season on a well-timed half-volley off a corner kick from Pan.
Our GRIT & Grace player of the game is Tank Pan ‘29 for his relentless energy, physical play both offensively and defensively, and his goal and assist. The boys are all looking forward to the long weekend!
