On a beautiful fall Friday night at Hovey Field, the team celebrated their 7 seniors, Catherine, Kitty, Ellie, Kate, Stella, Natasha, and Liesel! Following the onfield acknowledgements and celebration of this impactful group, the fans down at Hovey got to watch an exciting matchup between the Martlets and Kingswood Oxford. KO struck first midway through the opening quarter to put Westminster on its heels, but the Martlets stayed patient and stuck to their game plan. The response came five minutes into the second quarter when Westminster found the equalizer, sending the teams into halftime deadlocked at 1-1. Stella Spitz ‘27 sent a ball to the cage on an offensive corner and it was Campbell Corbin ‘30 who tipped the ball past the goalkeeper! Riding the momentum and the spark from the home crowd, the Martlets continued to press in the second half, finally breaking through for the go-ahead goal with just one minute left in the third quarter. This time it was Senior Captain Kate Epke who corralled the ball in the circle and beat the goalkeeper to put the Martlets in the lead! Westminster's defense held firm through a high-stakes fourth quarter to seal the hard-fought win!
