Under rainy skies at Pomfret, Westminster Field Hockey brought the energy and strong play from the very start. Westminster quickly proved they came ready to play; completing great passes and moving the ball well up field. The turning point came in the second quarter, sparked by a brilliant save in goal by Allie Scott ‘29. Her stop immediately shifted momentum upfield, where Campbell Corbin '30 connected with Stella Spitz '27, who finished to put the Martlets on the board. Only moments later, Westminster doubled down with a strong transfer cross field. Moving play seamlessly, Catherine Knauf spotted Spitz in the middle, setting up Spitz's second goal of the afternoon and giving the Martlets dynamic control heading into the second half. Pomfret pushed back aggressively in the final quarter, capitalizing on a scoring opportunity with roughly ten minutes remaining to pull within one and set up a tense finish. Despite the mounting pressure, Westminster’s defense held firm through the final whistle to close out a thrilling 2-1 victory away from home, a complete team win for the Martlets. The Martlets will take on Choate tomorrow on Hovey Field.
