Martlets Bounce Back with Impressive Road Victory at Pomfret

The Martlets traveled to Pomfret on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon, looking to rebound from a disappointing performance earlier in the week. Westminster came ready to play, delivering a strong team performance in a physical contest that saw the home side receive two straight red cards.
Despite the intensity of the match, the Martlets maintained their composure and took a commanding 3–0 lead into halftime.

The scoring opened with a brilliant give-and-go between Brady Jachym ’27 and Garrett Rohrbaugh ’27, with Rohrbaugh finishing the combination for his first goal of the season. Gray Berthiaume ’29 entered the match for an injured Jachym and made an immediate impact, capitalizing on a well-created opportunity to double Westminster’s lead. Just seconds before the halftime whistle, David Aparicio ’28 finished a terrific pass from Toby Cazeau ’30 to send the Martlets into the break with a three-goal advantage.

The second half began a bit sluggishly, but Westminster quickly regained its shape and rhythm, with contributions coming from throughout the lineup.

Captain Luka Misko ’27 added to the scoring with a terrific individual effort, beating his defender and firing a near-post strike. Misko then turned provider, setting up Cazeau, who found himself on the receiving end after creating opportunities for his teammates throughout the match. Kevin Coronado ’27 also continued his strong playmaking form, recording his team-leading fourth assist of the season.

Luca Romano ’27 produced one of the highlights of the afternoon, scoring his first Westminster goal with a spectacular strike from 30 yards out! Matthew Gregorski ’27 also got on the scoresheet, finishing a clever layoff from Cazeau. Aparicio and Cazeau added to their goal totals to round out an impressive offensive display.

It was an important response from the Martlets, who showed composure, resilience, and a willingness to play for one another. With numerous players contributing, Westminster demonstrated the depth and collective effort needed as the season progresses.
