Martlets Fall to DA

The Westminster JV Boys fell to a late goal to lose to Deerfield this afternoon. Daniel Olaosebikan ‘26 continued his fine run in front of goal to score after heavy Deerfield pressure in the first half. Westminster very much held their own against a good Deerfield team, with Auggie Barret ‘24 making recovery run after recovery run. Auggie was monumental this afternoon, distinguishing himself amongst a hard working defensive line, and nullifying the Deerfield attacks before they became a problem. Daniel Edwards ‘24 combined well with Auggie in the backline, showing composure and class on the ball. Daniel played through the whole game without complaint and performed his task with determination. He has the uncanny ability to pick a ball cleanly from the feet of any attacker and provided an elegant epee to Auggie’s warhammer. This was a good team performance right until the tired legs kicked in. The boys should be proud of their efforts although the anguish of losing such a tight contest will take a few days to abate.
