Martlets Defeat Wyverns

The Martlets traveled to Kingswood Oxford (KO) for a competitive matchup. The game started slowly, with both teams battling to find the opening goal. However, KO capitalized on a moment of hesitation when the Martlets assumed the ball had gone out of play, allowing KO to take a quick restart and score. The early setback exposed a lapse in focus from the Martlets, who had underestimated their opponents and now found themselves fighting to get back into the game.

As the Martlets began to play with greater urgency and confidence, Will Jones ‘28 stepped up to score the equalizer. Although the team's intensity fluctuated throughout the game, Warren Jones ‘30 made his presence felt with dynamic movement and relentless effort across the field. Arda Senecal ‘30 received several well-placed through balls and created promising opportunities, but the Martlets struggled to capitalize on their chances. Eventually, Arda ‘30 found the breakthrough with a superb tap-in, securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory for the Martlets. It was not the team's strongest performance, but their determination to push through and secure the win ultimately made the difference.

The Grit and Grace Award goes to Will Jones ‘28 for his outstanding commitment and relentless efforts throughout the game. Will consistently brought energy and intensity to the field, continuing to compete at a high level even when the team's overall performance became complacent.
