Westminster and No. 18 Deerfield Battle to a Draw in a Nail-Biter
Recently ranked No. 20 in the New England poll, Westminster welcomed No. 18 Deerfield Academy for a highly anticipated matchup, and the contest certainly lived up to the hype!
Both teams battled from start to finish in a high-level soccer match that showcased the quality, discipline, and determination of two evenly matched sides. In a game where both teams bent but neither broke, opportunities were hard-earned, with each side creating its fair share of half-chances but ultimately unable to find the back of the net.
It was a true nail-biter, with neither team willing to give an inch. Westminster's defensive organization and composure were on full display as the Martlets continued to compete against top-level opposition.
With the result, Westminster extends its unbeaten streak and now turns its attention to another challenging test on Saturday as the Martlets hit the road to take on Salisbury School.
