Martlets Battle Pelicans

In a tightly contested Friday afternoon matchup at Loomis Chaffee, an early score made all the difference as the Pelicans secured a 1-0 victory over the Martlets. Loomis started the game strong, applying pressure to the Martlets and quickly converting on an early offensive opportunity. Roughly five minutes into the first frame, the Pelicans found an opening in the circle and converted what would ultimately prove to be the game-winning goal. The remainder of the contest turned into a gritty, back-and-forth battle. Much of the action was fought in the midfield, with both defensive units locking down and limiting high-quality scoring opportunities on either end. Despite Westminster’s efforts to push for an equalizer in the final quarter, Loomis stood firm to protect its early advantage, holding on through the final whistle to claim the narrow victory over the Martlets. Westminster travels to Milton Academy tomorrow to take on the Mustangs.

Our Grit & Grace player of the game is Madeleine Milkovich! Madeleine was a steady, consistent presence for us in the midfield today, helping take control for the Martlets when necessary.
