Martlets Defeat DA

Westminster opened the season with a gritty 4-3 win against perennial Fourth Soccer powerhouse Deerfield Academy. The Martlets were not fazed by Deerfield’s size or the rain and wind gusts from the nor'easter. It was a true team effort with especially tough and skillful play on defense from Henry Baird ‘30 and Hudson Cypes ‘30. Marcos Campos ‘30, Max Matthews ‘30, Nathan Mezheritzsky ‘30 and RJ Hall ‘30 all scored goals for the Martlets. It was a great first game for the “Quad Squad” in all phases, and the players and coaches are excited for the rest of the season.
