Martlets Defeat Pomfret

With Coach Lee H. as my one-day assistant, the Martlets arrived at Pomfret just as kickoff was scheduled, after a long bus ride that began at 12:50. With only five minutes to get ready, the team shook off its fatigue and brought plenty of spirit to the pitch. The Martlets quickly took control: fifteen minutes in, Rush Miller ‘28 opened the scoring, then struck again six minutes later off an assist from Will Jones ‘28. Before halftime, Luke Champoux ‘28 unleashed a magnificent shot to make it 3–0, leaving Pomfret’s goalkeeper and defense with no answer.
The Martlets carried that momentum into the second half, as Champoux scored again and Miller added two more to complete his four-goal performance. One of those goals came from a penalty after a foul on him. Pomfret found the net late, but the Martlets’ commanding display secured a 6–1 victory.

The whole team earns the Grit & Grace Award for showing up and delivering, with special recognition for a defense that stood firm throughout.
