2017 - 2018Head Coach: Grant GritzmacherWestminster is home to a proud tradition of aquatic excellence, and the construction of the Hibbard Pool in 2003 has only served as a catalyst in attracting talented swimmers and divers into the community. Featuring an eight-lane, 25-yard pool with two Maxiflex one-meter springboards, a state-of-the-art Daktronics timing system and a cutting-edge fitness and weight training facility, the swim center is one of the top high school aquatic venues in all of New England.
The Westminster Swimming and Diving Team is a group of student-athletes dedicated to their academic pursuits, to the sports of swimming and diving, and to each other as teammates and friends. Each swimmer and diver shares a commitment to success at both the individual and team levels, and works to achieve his or her goals through focused training, healthy habits and team unity. Members of a seasoned coaching staff with numerous years of experience are on deck to guide and nurture our swimmers and divers.
The prep school swimming and diving season runs from mid-November to early March, during which time athletes practice daily and compete on Saturdays among many of the top swimming schools in New England. The coaching staff works closely with swimmers to improve stroke efficiency, build aerobic endurance, and prepare athletes for inspired performance both physiologically and mentally.In 2019 the boys won their first team title at the New England Prep School Division II Championships. The boys team finished the 2020 season ranked second in the NEPSAC.
