Located on the second floor of the Sherwin Health and Athletic Center, the Health Center is open to day and boarding students Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. During these hours, the on-site team consists of nurses and one or two medical providers. One of our psychologists is on-site most days and are always available on call. The athletic trainer is on campus during times that sports teams are active while the physical therapist is available during afternoon hours 3-4 days a week.

For health-related needs at any time of day when school is in session, please call (860) 408-3080. This is the most expeditious way to connect with the Health Center team. During off hours, there is a nurse on call as well as a covering Advanced Practicing Registered Nurse (ARPN) or M.D. For communications that are not time-sensitive and appropriate to the format, please use email, healthcenter@westminster-school.org.

Evaluations and certain related services are available to all students. While many services are included for students, others require additional fees. Consult the W Book or with the Health Center if you have any questions regarding additional medical fees. A partial list of available services is listed below.

Fitness Center

The Fitness Center features a wide array of fitness machines, weights, exercise balls, and mats that are used for athletic training, rehabilitation and recreation. Individuals and teams use this bright, open space to work towards their fitness and strength goals.

Aquatics

The pool has eight 25-yard lanes ranging in depth from 4 feet to 12 feet under the dual one-meter diving boards. Four locker rooms (two for each gender) allow swimmers plenty of space while changing.

Temperature and air quality are critical. The facility's powerful HVAC system enables us to hold the water temperature at 81 year round with comfortable humidity levels controlled by continuously bringing in fresh air after recovering the heat (or “cool” during the summer) from the air leaving the pool area.
