Currently one of the most successful programs in New England, Westminster Varsity Softball has won 11 Founders League titles and 9 Class A Western New England Championships since 2007, while achieving a record of 241 wins and 35 losses during that time.
Westminster softball players have gone on to compete at D3 and D1 schools including Bates College, Bowdoin College, Brandeis University, Bryant University, Cornell University, Georgetown University, Hamilton College, RPI, St. Lawrence, and Wesleyan University.
The spring of 2025 began with the 21st Westminster Softball trip to Orlando for preseason practices, games, and team bonding at Universal theme parks! Upon returning from Florida, the Martlets played a strong 18 game schedule against teams including Choate, Kingswood Oxford, Loomis Chaffee, Suffield, and Williston. Westminster competes on a beautiful field constructed in 2008.
Head coach Mitch Overbye and assistant coach Nicole Garcia run the program. Mr. Overbye has been at Westminster since 1999, and has also coached numerous travel and town teams. Ms. Garcia's previous experience includes successful years coaching softball at Suffield Academy.
With this dedicated and enthusiastic staff, the team is well prepared each spring for a challenging and rewarding softball experience.
