Boys Continue to Improve

The Martlets traveled to Miss Porter’s Feb. 17 and faced strong teams from Avon Old Farms and Hopkins, losing a double-dual but putting up some fast times throughout the afternoon. The only two Westminster wins came from Layton Harmon '21 in the 50 Free, dropping a full second of his best time to outpace his opponents; and co-captain Matt Norris '19, who took the top spot in the 500 Freestyle with his best time of the season. Co-captain Albert Gao '18 took second in the 200 Freestyle, Norris added a third in the 200 IM, and Hayden Cathcart '18 placed third in the diving event his best score of the season. Harmon took third in the 100 Fly with another big time drop, and Gao was third in the 100 Freestyle. Other lifetime bests were turned in by Hudson Stedman '21 (200 IM), Matt Park '21 (50 Free), Daniel Pinckney '20 (200 IM, 100 Fly, 100 Free), Tremaine Dawson '21 (100 Free), Eddie Shin '21 (100 Breast), and Harmon (100 Free). The team turns its focus to the Founders League Championships next Saturday at Hotchkiss.
