Boys Win Big at Williston
The boys kept their momentum up this week with a host of best times and fantastic finishes in a decisive win on the road. Co-captain Albert Gao ‘18 won the 200 Free with a best time, co-captain Matt Norris ‘19 won the 200 IM, and Liam Seeley ‘20 won the 50 Free in a personal best time. Hayden Cathcart ‘18 won the diving with his best score ever, and Norris won the 500 Free. The 200 Free Relay team of co-captain Teagan Stedman ‘18, Eddie Shin ‘21, Norris and Gao reeled in their opponents in the last two legs and Gao made the pass on the final lap for the win. Other lifetime best were swum by Layton Harmon ‘21 (200 IM and 100 Fly), Stedman (50 Free, 100 Free, 200 Free), Daniel Pinckney ‘20 (100 Fly), Justin Schuster ‘19 (50 Free, 100 Free), David DeFronzo ‘19 (50 Free, 100 Free), Grant McCargo ‘21 (100 Free), Cathcart (100 Breast) and Emmett de Kanter ‘19 stepped up in his first-ever 500 Freestyle to round out a Martlet sweep behind Norris and Kieran Haug ‘21 which turned the tide of the meet in Westminster’s favor. It was a great afternoon of fast swimming and diving. The Martlets host Canterbury on Saturday at Hibbard Pool.
