An Instant Classic

On April 15 Hovey Field hosted an "instant classic." Although Westminster would eventually drop the game in overtime, the boys came back from three-goal deficits on two separate occasions; tying the game with less than a minute in regulation on a Wyatt Watts ’17 goal. Westminster had a solid opportunity in OT, but Taft’s goalie made a great save. Westminster would get called for a penalty and ultimately lose on a extra man offense goal, 16-15.

Jack Siebert ’17 followed up his four-goal performance against Choate with three goals on Saturday. Alex Weiss ’17 also recorded another hat trick. Westminster would have six different midis score with sophomore Bear Lockshin recording two goals. Watts also had two. Alex Semler ’17 continued to be strong at the X going against a Duke commit and winning the critical faceoff in OT.

Westminster has adopted a secondary motto for the season, "It doesn't get easier; we get better". The team is in the early stages of a stretch of games against some of the best teams in the nation. This week, the Martlets get back to work preparing for a contest with Salisbury on Wednesday.
