Second Girls' Lacrosse breaks out in second half to win big over Taft

The Second Girls' Lacrosse team had a strong showing against a speedy Taft team on Wednesday. The Martlets scored the first three goals to take control of the game early, but the Rhinos soon countered with a few breakaway goals of their own to keep the score close, 7-5 at halftime. Westminster started firing on all cylinders in the second half to put the game out of reach. Midfielders McKenna Burrelle '17 and Greta Baker '19 worked hard all day, and great defensive plays were made by Lexi Organ '16, Julia Carter '16, Goalie Nadia Lee '18, Susie Renehan '19, Brinley Cuddeback '17 and Liza Lennox '18. The team is fired up to face a tough Deerfield squad and their former coach on Saturday.
