Second Girls' Lacrosse blanks Pomfret in winning effort

Second Girls' Lacrosse played an up-tempo game that matched the beautiful weather on Saturday afternoon, as the girls took on Pomfret and picked up their first win of the young season. The Martlets got on the board early with Shannon Keefe '19 gathering up a loose ball behind the cage and rolling the crease to put it in the back of the net in the first minute of the game. Westminster continued to dictate the pace of play for the rest of the game with a mix of settled offense and breakaways. O’Keefe and Jill Parsons '19 each ended the day with three goals, Lily Farriss '19 netted two goals and had two assists, Rosy Sieglaff '18 had a goal and an assist, and Caroline Kelter '19 scored one assisted by Alex Aiello '17. Goalie Nadia Lee '18 earned a shutout with three saves on the day. The Martlets hope to keep the momentum going as they travel to the Bobcats of Williston on Wednesday.
