"Westminster School seeks curious and engaged students who want to grow and learn in a challenging and supportive environment. Students who are motivated to become their best selves both in and out of the classroom, taking advantage of the myriad of opportunities Westminster has to offer."
“At Westminster, we aspire to an extraordinarily ambitious commitment to secondary education, a commitment to nurture the participation of our diverse school community across our entire program — from academics, to studios and labs, gyms, fields and rink, and service to our Hartford community partners. Westminster students are inspired by opportunities to make a difference in all their endeavors.”
"Through gritty trial and error, Westminster students grow into independent learners who are curious, critical thinkers. With the support of faculty, students gain the skills to understand the world around them and enrich their communities at school and beyond."
"The visual and performing arts program at Westminster weaves the community together and nurtures the spirit of the Westminster campus. The arts at Westminster inspire students of all levels of experience from the very beginner to the advanced artist to practice the freedom of creative self-expression. Professional teachers guide students to work through the creative process from inception to the presentation, building a lifelong respect and appreciation for the arts."
Kerry Kendall Head of Visual and Performing Arts Department
"Athletic success at Westminster is measured not only by wins and losses, but through the bonds created between teammates and coaches, individual and team improvement, and personal growth. When students learn how to be competitors and how to cooperate with one another, they are better prepared to be citizens of the global world."
“Driven by a desire to serve young people and conscious of the opportunities for private schools to support a public purpose, Westminster School’s mission statement concludes with the call ‘to commit to a life of service beyond self.’ Westminster’s Hartford Partnership programs aim to deliver on that mission while making a direct impact on people and programs in Hartford.”
Patrick Owens Executive Director, Horizons at Westminster & Hartford Partnerships
“Involvement will be the key to your success at Westminster School. Get involved with the arts, try a sport you've never played, start your own club, run for student council. You will get out of this experience exactly what you put into it. Do these things early in your life — keep seeking more opportunities for growth.”
“Support for Westminster School provides a way to remember the past, shape the present and steward the future of the school.”

MArtlets Take Control Against Renbrook
The Martlets were presented with perfect weather for a Hill Holiday and more importantly for their game against Renbrook School. Right off the first whistle, the Martlets came out with a fire in their steps and lots of hustle. There was lots of great ball movement up and down the field, and great communication down on the attacking end. On the second offensive corner of the game, Rachel Halfon '16 crossed the ball to a patient Annie Hicks '17 on the opposite post, and she missed it by just a hair. Her great positioning on the post was something they had worked on as a team all week. On another offensive corner, Halfon hit the ball into the circle from down low, it rebounded off the goalie's pads, and Erin Gorham '16 was there to redirect the ball into the corner of the goal. All the while, Dora Mitchel '17 had some great passing in the midfield and really supported the ball. Renbrook had a strong right wing, but the left side (which consisted of Sydney Autorino '17, Lily Mahoney '17, and Abby Newman '16) did a great job of channeling her and slowing her down. During a moment of pressure in the circle, Maggie DeDomenico '16 drilled a ball into the goal from the top of the circle with three minutes remaining in the first half to make the score 2-0. In the second half Renbrook was pressuring the ball a lot more, but the Martlets maintained their composure. At the attacking end, Halfon had many great opportunities in the circle, while the defense was anchored by Julia Carter '16 at center back and Abby LeBlanc '17 at the right, who had a strong and patient stick for the duration of the game. With eight minutes left in the second half, DeDomenico made a great assist from the top of the circle to teammate Autorino for a tip in. The second half was filled with lots of pressure on the Renbrook defense, with an end result of 18 offensive corners on the game for Westminster. Joanna Beach '16 had 3 saves in goal and was filled with energy in the circle. The Martlets played their game, and look forward to hosting Deerfield Academy Wednesday, 10/9, at 4:15pm on Observatory Field. Thank you to all the fans that came out to support the team!
