Martlets Pull Off Win

The Martlets traveled to Lakeville on a chilly day.  While the offense did not warm up, the defense was red hot.  By changing defenses and pressing, the Martlets held the Bearcats to 14 first half points and led 17-14 at the break.  Both teams warmed up in the second half, but the Martlets prevailed 39-31.  Balanced scoring and few turnovers helped Westminster.  Joey Oh '15, Christian Barral-Arteta '12, Scott Williams '16, Alemante Tedla '12, and Ricardo Vazquez '16 each had two points.  Carl Doucette '16 had four points.  Evan Yenor '12 and Tyler Buckley '15 each had 5.  Noah Fosse-Greiner '16 and Jack Werner '16 led the way with seven and eight respectively.  Werner and Fosse-Greiner were perfect from the free throw line down the stretch to help seal the victory.  Barral-Arteta had five rebounds and four steals, Doucette had 5 rebounds, and Williams led the way with ten rebounds - his season high.  This was a solid team effort.
