Wild Boars Win Battle Versus Martlets

In a game of one-sided runs, the Martlets could not finish a great comeback.  Westminster took a 17-8 lead to start the game, then fell behind 21-32, then battled back to trail 41-45, before the Wild Boars hit their free throws down the stretch.  Carl Doucette '16 led the Martlets with seven rebounds and Jack Werner '16 led the Martlets with eleven points.  But this game was the coming out party for Scott Williams '16.  Williams had eight points, six rebounds, three steals, and two assists.  The game began with consecutive three point shots by Werner, Williams, and Tyler Buckley '15.  Westminster and Choate then battled for the rest of the half.  Choate led 19-17 at the break.  The second half began with a run for Choate.  Ken Barnes '16 ended the drought with a three point shot.  Christian Barral-Arteta '13 and Werner tightened the defense and Barral-Arteta hit a three-point shot to bring the Martlets within four points and 41-45.  Westminster had a good look at a two-point and a three-point shot while trailing by four.  This was a solid game for the young Martlets and they will go back to work on Thursday to get ready for Canterbury on Friday.
