Martlets Win Defensive Duel

Greg Pietroforte '12 scored 3 goals including the game winner at 2:38 of OT to give the Martlets a big Founders' League win at home and get to 7-3 on the season.  The game was, as the score indicates, all about the defense and goalie Miller Steinle '12 made 11 saves including a big one point-blank in OT.  Both teams scattered shots throughout the game, but Steinle's presence forced Loomis to shoot for the edges.  The game was 3-2 Westminster at the half, and Westminster led 4-2 at the start of the 4th, but Loomis fought hard getting it tied at 4 on an EMO goal with 1:55 to go.  The Westminster man-down team put terrific pressure on Loomis' shooters all day, fighting off 9 of 10 penalties including a big 6 v 4 stop in the 4th.
