Martlets Beat Talented Taft

Ryan Cholnoky '12 had 3 goals and Tim Lyons '12 had 6 GBs as Westminster improved to 4-1 by outlasting a talented Taft team on Wilbraham Field.  Taft came out fast scoring in the first 22 seconds, then got two more before Dillon Tiner '12 opened the Martlet scoring effort, but not until 5:34 into the second quarter.  Westminster then got it to 4-3 at the half and, eventually, to 8-5 behind Tiner, Cholnoky, and 2g by Sam Dardani '14.  Patrick Tinari '12 and Will Stevens '12 each had a good game between RLs with some big, momentum-changing GBs.  Will Gould '12, Alec Dunn '13, and Cory Latour '12 helped limit Taft shooting angles, while Gordon Santry '12 made 17 saves against a very good shooting Rhino offense. It was an exciting, hard-fought Founders' League win on a beautiful day in Simsbury.
