Martlets Fight To Final Whistle

The Third Boys' Soccer team lost a hard fought game to Taft by a score of 4-3.  Westminster took control of the game and took a 1-0 lead when John Vantine '13 crossed a ball across the box that was calmly finished by Curtis Brackett '13 .  It was a hard fought game that saw Westminster control much of the play, but a few defensive breakdowns led to 4 goals scored by Taft. Vantine added a pair of goals for Westminster, one of which was created by an incredibly impressive run by Curtis Mackenzie '12 as he beat 2 defenders to win the ball and played it across the middle to be tapped in by Vantine.  Westminster never gave up and fought hard until the final whistle and had many chances down the stretch to tie the game, but just fell short.  Ryan Seymour '14 played an outstanding game as he was all over the field winning balls and distributing it to his teammates.
