Martlets Fall Behind, Can't Catch Up To Choate

The Martlets had a tough afternoon in Wallingford, falling 4-0 to the Boars of Choate.  The hosts tallied in the 18th, 30th and 37th minutes to take a 3-0 halftime lead, keeping the Martlets under pressure with quick changes in the point of attack.  The second half saw better passing from the Black and Gold, with more threats ensuing in their offensive end, but none bore the ultimate fruit.  In the 76th minute a run into the corner and a well placed cross led to a fourth goal for the hosts and an end to the scoring.  On the bright side, Jake Crow '12 was strong in goal, keeping the game from getting out of reach.  Additionally, a number of new and younger players got valuable game experience.  The boys will be glad to leave the road behind for a while, hosting Pomfret in the home opener on Saturday.
