Westminster Loses to Williston, Loomis

Westminster Girls Track team traveled to Loomis-Chaffee for a meet on a grey afternoon. Loomis-Chaffee was both deep and strong, taking 14 of 17 first places. Co-Captain Juliet Okpalanma ’06 led the Martlets with a first in long jump and a second in the 400 m, while Ashley Robinson ’06 finished the dual-meet season with a first in the shot and a second in the discus.

Eleven firsts gave Williston-Northampton the meet, as Westminster was spread thin with seven second and four thirds. Tiffany Moopenn ’06 had a banner day with a first in the 1500 and seconds in the 3000 and 800 while Ashley Robinson ’06 had a personal record in the shot (34”11”) and won the discuss. Kayla Lessard ’07 went 1,2,3 in the pole vault, 100, 200, respectively, and Maddie Dailey ’09 had a second (triple jump) and a third (int. hurdles).
