Westminster Defeats Kent

Westminster defeated Kent this afternoon 5-3. Kent got on the board first with a goal late in the 1st period to send the Martlets into the dressing room down by a goal. Just 40 seconds into the 2nd frame Jesse Fehr '06 corralled a lose puck on the wall, drove to the neat, and slid the puck past the Kent goalie to tie the game at 1. The Martlets added three more goals in the second with August Perrigo '07, Patrick O'Brien '07, and Ben Smith '06 finding the back of the net.

The 3rd period was back and forth, both teams getting opportunities. Westminster was able to hold on to the lead and Casey Fazekas '06 sealed the game with an empty net goal with just 20 seconds left in the game. As usual the Martlets got another strong showing from Bryce Shattie '06 in the net as he made a total of 18 saves.
