Westminster Defeats Philips Andover 2-1

Westminster defeated Philips Andover 2-1 this morning in their second game of the Flood Marr. The first period was fast and furious with both teams buzzing but no goals were scored in the first frame. Five minutes into the second period Ollie Koo '08 came streaking down the right wing and beat the Andover goalie with a nice shot that hit the inside of the post and then the back of the net to give the Martlets their first lead of the tournament.

Shortly thereafter Andover popped one by Bryce Shattie '06 to tie the game at 1. With just 3 minutes left in the second period David Earl '09 made a nice play to keep the puck in the zone, made a nice move around a defender, and found Ben Smith '06 in front the Andover net to once again give the Martlets the lead. This goal proved to be the game winner as the Martlets once again had a strong showing from goalie Shattie who made 17 saves.
