Martlets Defeat Lions by Mercy

On a 60 degree April day, the Martlets headed west to take on the Kent Lions. Road trips like these can lull a team to sleep, however, the Martlets showed up ready. Ryan Holmes '28 lined the first pitch of the game for a single, stole second, and Ethan Villacis '27 drove him in with a single. Holmes would go on to have a 5 hit, 3RBI game. Monty Gantz '26 was an offensive star, driving in 3 in the first inning and finishing the day with 6 RBI. On the mound, Matt Vahle '26 went 3IP, surrendering no runs to earn his first win in black & gold. Lucas Steniger '29 and Andy Do '28 finished the game on the mound. Next up, the Martlets host Loomis Chaffee on Osborn Field.
