Martlets Defeat Rhinos Behind Strong Pitching

On a great day to play softball, Natalie House '29 pitched a complete game victory over Taft, striking out six and allowing just seven base hits. She was supported by the strong play of Melody El-Amin Stewart '27, who called a fine game behind the plate and had two base hits. The Westminster bats came alive against the Rhinos. Anna Hassett '27 tripled, doubled, and had three RBIs. Lily Shuster '27 had two hits and drove in a run, House singled and later scored a runner on a well hit sacrifice fly, and Mya Polastry '27 also drove in a Westy baserunner. Jane Curtiss '28 had a breakout game for the Martlets. She doubled in the third inning and tripled in the fifth frame. Defensively, infielders Caitlyn Eaton '28, Kailyn Buda '27, and Curtiss made some fine plays. In the outfield, Shuster, Polastry and Gabby de la Fe '26 had important catches. The Martlets will next travel to Canterbury to face the Saints on Saturday.
