Martlets Bounce Back with Win

Westminster hosted Pomfret School this past Saturday for a competitive home matchup. Ava Aponte '28 led the Martlets' offense with an impressive hat trick, consistently finding the back of the cage with great shot selection following several powerful drives. The offensive effort was further bolstered by Alex Musser '26 and Caroline Pokorny '26, who each netted two goals. Their contributions allowed Westminster to pull away from the Griffins during the second and third quarters. The highlight of the game was the Martlets' cohesive team defense. The unit demonstrated exceptional communication and support. When the opposition did get shots, Maya Jones provided a reliable final line of defense, "standing tall between the pipes" to maintain the lead. Finally, Lily Pokorny '29 recorded her first career goal as a Martlet which is a promising sign of things to come.
