Martlets Fall to Bears

Westy’s JV girls hockey team braved the trek to Sheffield, Mass., for their final away contest against a powerhouse Berkshire squad. The Bears jumped to a quick 5-0 lead, but Macey Sheehan (’27) stole the spotlight and shifted the momentum midway through the second frame. In a true highlight-reel effort, Sheehan danced past three defenders before rifling a clinical wrist shot into the top shelf. Bolstered by that spark, the Martlets locked down with gritty play through the final two frames, holding the Bears to only two more goals. Despite the 7-1 loss, Westy’s relentless energy made every inch of ice a battle until the final buzzer.
