Martlets Fall to Taft

Senior Day at Pettee Gymnasium brought the Rhinos of Taft to Williams Hill, and the afternoon offered both reflection and competition. All five sixth formers left their mark. Brody DiBeneditto ’26 scored eight points, including a pair of three-pointers. Aidan O’Callaghan ’26 added two points and did the understated work inside, sealing off Rhino rebounders with disciplined box-outs. Cole Hadden ’26 knocked down the final three-pointer of his Westminster career, while Finn Cathey ’26 contributed a trademark high-arching layup in transition. Liam Murray ’26 once again anchored the interior and secured two rebounds in traffic. Calvin Bixby ’28 added four points and an assist, and Maruli Sianturi ’28 led the scoring effort with nine points, attacking the rim with determination and finishing through contact. Taft, however, found consistent offense from the perimeter and controlled the rebounding margin, advantages that ultimately secured the win. Still, the larger view tells the more meaningful story. From early January to season’s end, the Black and Gold showed measurable growth, in physicality, communication, and competitive poise. The final score on Senior Day closed the chapter, but the progress over the winter defined the season.
