Martlets Battle Porter's

Porters visited Westminster for our third and final match of the season. Although we did not win, everyone fought hard for each point. Kim ’28 battled through four tough games, highlighted by a strong 11–5 win and competitive stretches throughout the match. Breslav ’26 was dominant from the start, sweeping in straight games with confident, controlled play and only allowing a combined 12 points across three games, a statement performance.

Ni ’29 showed resilience, bouncing back with an 11–3 win mid-match and continuing to fight for every point. Khuu ’28 delivered the most dramatic opener of the day with a thrilling 12–10 first-game victory before facing a determined opponent in the following games. Mertz ’29 had one of the tightest matches overall, grabbing an 11–7 win and pushing another game to 9–11.

Mohammady ’27 played a steady and composed match, keeping every game competitive and applying consistent pressure throughout. Lee ’29 had a back-and-forth battle that went the distance, splitting early games and keeping things close all the way through a fifth-game finish. In her second match, she continued to compete hard and gain valuable experience.

Han ’29 and Lee ’29 both faced challenging opponents but stayed positive and kept working through every rally. White ’28 brought the drama with a marathon 16–14 game that had everyone watching, showing poise in the biggest moments. Newberg ’27 was sharp and efficient in a straight-game victory, including an impressive 11–1 showing. Hwang ’29 opened with a clutch 12–10 win and stayed competitive in a tightly contested match.

Overall, this was a day full of long rallies, comeback moments, and visible growth. The energy on court was strong, teammates were supportive, and the effort never dipped. A lot to be proud of and plenty of momentum to carry forward.
