Martlets Defeat Lions

The Martlets hosted Kent for a late afternoon tipoff  on Williams Hill.  Kent started the game with a lot of defensive pressure, which helped them gain an early lead.  Once the guys settled in, they were able to adjust and compete at a higher level..  Sonny Batchelor ‘27 had one of his better games of the season, he ended with 21 points, 6 rebounds and several big time assists.  The Martlets were down at half 40-37.  In the first several minutes of the second half, the Martlets set the tone.  Ethan Griffin ‘26 was dominant on both ends of the court, he ended with 21 points, 13 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals.  Midway through the second half, Elliot Goldberg ‘28 found his stride and he chipped in with 10 points while adding in several strong takes to the basket.  In the final minutes, Julien Wiggins ‘27 had a strong all around game with 28 points, 4 assists and several steals.  All of the seniors were able to play against Kent.  Draven Chung ‘26 chipped in with some key free throws and rebounds.  The Martlets host Taft next Saturday.
