Martlets Fall to Tabor

The Westminster Martlets dropped a hard-fought road contest to Tabor Academy on Saturday, falling 3-1 to the Seawolves. Tabor struck first late in the opening period, converting on a power-play opportunity to take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission. The Martlets responded with energy in the second period and were rewarded midway through the frame when Rose Robertson ’28 evened the score. Robertson finished off a well-executed 2-on-1 with Stella Spitz ‘27, snapping a shot past the Seawolves’ goaltender to knot the game at 1-1. Momentum swung back to Tabor just minutes later, as the Seawolves regained the lead with a goal late in the second period. Tabor added an insurance goal within the final minute of the frame, giving the home team a 3-1 advantage heading into the third. Westminster continued to battle in the final period, generating pressure and competing hard in all three zones, but was unable to find the back of the net again. Despite the loss, the Martlets showed resilience and effort throughout the contest. Westminster will look to build on that effort as they prepare for their next matchup on Monday at Loomis.

Our Grit & Grace player of the game was sophomore Rose Robertson! Rose had the lone goal of the game and was acknowledged by her teammates as someone who is a role model for the team every day through her consistent effort and positivity.
