Martlet Fall to Wild Boars

The Martlets welcomed the Wild Boar of Choate to the confines of Pettee Gymnasium on a Wednesday afternoon. The Black & Gold came out firing on a quick run with baskets from Liam Hibbard ‘27. Kareum Skovron-Rasheed ‘29 had himself a campaign with five points, including a three-pointer. Choate took a 27-18 lead into the halftime break as turnovers crept up for the Martlets. In the second half, Calvin Bixby ‘29 pestered defenders with four steals. Sonny Darnowski ‘29 added a defensive anchor with weakside rotations, plus six points and two boards. Finn Williams ‘26 channeled his alias Strawberry Thunder with seven points, including a three-pointer and a clutch box. The Martlets showed some grit, put together a few runs, and competed, but Choate had too much shooting on the day. The team welcomes Canterbury on Friday in their next game.
