Martlets Defeat Canterbury

The Martlets made the long trek on a snowy Saturday to tip-off against the Canterbury Saints. With only seven girls in tow, they rallied their collective energy, set some early Q1 goals (and quickly met them), and brought the juice to the Saints home court. In their first victory of the season, they scored more points than in any other game and ended the game with each of the seven girls recording at least two points. It was a true team effort. Caitlin Eaton set the tone early in the first quarter by putting four points on the scoreboard. Esther Lee controlled the game at point guard with her strong basketball IQ and she maintained composure under pressure.  She played selflessly, forced numerous turnovers and scored four points. Abby Desson scored her first two points of the season and was a force to be reckoned with on defense. A great victory for the Martlets!
