Westminster 9 vs NMH 0

Despite snowy conditions on a winter Saturday, the Martlets were able to make the trip to Gill, MA to face NMH and wasted no time setting the tone. Westminster came out strong with an energetic opening shift, quickly followed by an early goal from sophomore Jane Curtiss, her first as a Martlet. The momentum didn’t stop there, as the Martlets added three more goals before the end of the first period to take a 4-0 lead. Juniors Bella Zapata and Mya Polastry each found the back of the net, along with sophomore Ruby Robertson. The Martlets carried their pace into the second period, generating several quality scoring chances early on, though the NMH goaltender stood tall. Midway through the period, junior Abigail Graham broke through for her first goal as a Martlet. The Robertson sisters then each added a goal, extending the lead to 7-0. In the third period, senior Pippa Jiranek scored her first goal as a Martlet, followed by another tally from Zapata to cap off the scoring. Junior goaltender Kate Epke was in net for the shutout. The Martlets now look ahead to a busy three-game week, beginning Wednesday at Jackson Rink against Millbrook.

Our Grit & Grace player of the game is Junior Abigail Graham! Abigail not only got her first as a Martlet today, but brought energy and compete for the Martlets today.
