Martlets Fall to Taft

The thirds lacrosse team made the scenic haul to Taft where they had their first away game of the season. The Martlets got off to a hot start with Nicholai Steinle ’25 finding the net first from a glorious assist from Maruli Sianturi ’28. Maruli kept the offensive momentum going by scoring a goal himself assisted by Jack Perkins ’28. The Rhinos battled back and scored two goals of their own making the game 2-2. The second quarter was dominated by Wayne Kelly 27’ scoring two goals, no easy feat as he was tasked with playing attack rather than his usual position as a defenseman. The Rhinos answered again with two goals of their own making it 4-4 with two minutes left in the half. Samuel Herdeg ’27 showcased his varsity soccer talent  by kicking the ball In Front of the crease and scoring the final goal in the first half with a brilliantly placed shot in the bottom left of the goal. The first half ended 5-4 in favor of the Martlets. The second half was well fought by the boys but ultimately came up short by one point. Scoring went back and forth until the final whistle which resulted in a 8-7 loss to Taft. The Martlets will face AOF again on April 22nd in search of the first victory of the season.
