Martlets Fall to Kent

The Westminster School Junior Varsity Martlets played hard but unfortunately fell to Avon Old Farms, 53-35, on Monday at Avon Old Farms School. Despite the loss, Ethan Hernandez led the Martlets with a strong performance, scoring 11 points. Avon Old Farms held a 35-27 lead and went on a 12-point run to extend their advantage and pull away in the second half.
The Martlets showed resilience on defense, blocking five shots throughout the game. Mike Basich and Ethan Hernandez each grabbed six rebounds to help the team on the boards. Mike Basich added 9 points, while other contributions came from Stephen Lau (5 points), Brody DiBenedito (4 points), Garett Rohrbaugh (2 points), Hudson Black (2 points), Jacoby Jones (1 point), and Max Williams (1 point). Despite their hard-fought effort and team contributions, the Martlets couldn’t overcome Avon Old Farms.
