Martlets Fall to Williston

Closest match of the year so far! The Squash Squad was back and fully healthy to host Williston on a pleasant Wednesday afternoon. It was back and forth from the very start with evens taking the court first. Clover Cooper ‘26 ran into a strong player at #2, but Lucy Morton ‘26, Lilly McMillen ‘27 and Luna Yang ‘26 battled to grab some momentum back for the Martlets. After Lucy and Lilly snagged straight set wins, Luna won in the fifth as the odds took to the court. Camilla Norton ‘25 lost in straight sets at #1 and Wynne Prichett ‘28 got off to a great start but dropped the next three as her opponent got better each game at #5. One other highlight was Clara Covill ‘26 who had her longest contest of the year, winning in four games at #9. With the Martlets suddenly down 3-2 overall, Blair won 11-9 in the fifth to tie it all up! What would have been heroic from Grace Kim ‘25, despite saving five match points in her own fifth game, sadly ended up losing 12-10 to give the visitors the win. Could have gone either way, but it was overall a great first match back from break. Hoping to bounce back against Suffield in two days.
